Jody O'Shea Orphanage Bali

unnamedCheryl and Danny Gardiner have helped support Jody O'Shea Orphanage Bali since 2013.
'It brings me to tears every time we visit, but tears on the humility within this home, and it really is a Home.”  says Cheryl.
'The children are so happy it is wonderful seeing them come back from school in their school uniforms, the little ones are too cute for words!
And then to see them growing up and still supported by the staff and children, they offer a sponsorship to send children to university which over 4yrs costs approximately $4,000, you are changing lives.” The Jodie O’Shea orphanage was opened in her memory after she died from the Bali bombing on October 12 2002.  Starting with 14 Children it now homes 92.  Please if you are going to Bali ensure you support homes that give your well earned dollar, to the love and care of the children, not for their own corrupt means.

Jody O’shea Orphanage ensures all their Children go to School to receive proper lessons not used as free labour.

For tourists, there remains a dilemma - how to help needy children without having their money being diverted or encouraging exploitation.

Alison Chester of the Jodie O'Shea orphanage wants visitors to be vigilant, but still generous.

"Just don't hand over cheques to organisations unless it's in the charity's name, unless they are willing to show you their books," she said.

"But don't give up on us. The children here need help."
