Danny Gardiner MD of Roksolid Construction is 1 of only 3 LHA accredited assessors in SA.
Every home whether private or a government advocacy that requires NDIS/SDA funding requires certification from an Assessor.
Only accredited LHA Assessor's can certify a design to meet LHA levels. (unless otherwise mandated by the planning or development authority.) LHA assessors must follow a strict code of conduct to ensure their assessment meets precise standards. An accredited assessor is essential in NDIS/SDA registrations. The assessor ensures a property meets necessary certification and issues authorisation accordingly.
LHA promotes the mainstream adoption of liveable housing design principles in all new homes built in Australia, to meet the changing needs of occupants across their lifetime with features and designs that make them easier and safer to use for all occupants:
- people with a disability
- ageing Australians
- people with temporary injuries, and
- families with young children.
- NDIS/SDA recognised properties
LHA push for the adoption of its design principles which are classified into 3 levels of compliance – silver, gold and platinum. The principles include concepts such as wider foot paths to front doors, no change in ground level at doorways and no thresholds at those door ways. There are a lot more ideas you can implement into your next home to make it more liveable now and in the future.
